On “Get Up, Get Out Into The Rain”, the Berlin-based NAOMI are approaching the Alternative House genre – starting with the beat and ending up at the emotion. At the same time, however, the duo is avoiding everything which is too cool or hip. Worked out really well – and the bass, beg your pardon, is sexy as fuck. With “Get Up, Get Out Into The Rain”, Nico Tobias and Bernd Lechler have written a song about childhood and even meditate over naivity and optimism: to derive enjoyment from annoyances and to recognize the potential of failures, making lemonade when the world is throwing lemons at you. At the same time, the song is the harbinger of the upcoming sixth album “Swim”, which is to be released in September and is much more relaxed, more elegant and more reduced than its predecessors, proving again: thanks to their diverse sound, Naomi are one of the acts in electronic music that is definitely not to be missed!

130758Solemnoire‘s “The Black Sea Workbook” is an intimate experience of distance and longing. Inspired by a magic summer in Varna, it conjures up the vision of a primordial world, an imagined Black Sea as it might have been millions of years ago. Ten tracks pull you into a kaleidoscopic daydream of ancient continents overgrown with tropical green and the deep body of an ocean pregnant with life. A sense of personal revelation fills you as you travel through moments of majesty, melancholy and wonder. It is your world and your discovery. You who gazes toward distant shorelines, walks under a disapproving sun, imagines the dance of marine lifeforms, and trembles at the traces of prehuman activity. You who is permeated by a sense of longing, for the comfort of a remote world unmoved by human concerns.

2_115089In 1974 Marcus Schmahl, also known by its chill out, downbeat & electronica Projects Guardner and Rauschfaktor, was born in Mainz, Germany. He began with the age of 14 as a “computer and electronic freak” to use his computer hardware as a musical instrument and to produce first electronic tracks with it – in addition to his classical guitar training. Marcus has developed his own way to write music and to perform it live or as a DJ. Thus the foundation was laid to form his own production company, which also was influenced by video production activity and photography. With his albums for the project Guardner he led the German chill out charts for months and he was hired as a remixer for major music projects. Today his music catalog is regularly used by TV producers / directors. In 2000, Marcus produced his first film score for a TV series of the ARD (Germany) with a team.

Berkstroem was founded in 2008 because the new music layouts didn’t fit to Marcus’ other projects. The project will approach a greater audience and is also a musical evolution of Marcus Schmahl. He will work with many guest musicians and producers on the forthcoming Berkstroem album to have as many musical styles and working methods combined to a musical production.

Mourah’s heart beats for many genres like electro and soul but also pop or alternative rock, not without revealing a certain sense of lyricism expressed in airy flights of vocals. In March his much-awaited new album Kardia appears. Along the ten tracks of the opus, one might answer that his hosts a world as sensitive and subtle as strikingly varied musically. Kardia is by no means devoid of unity. Mourah delivers a crystalline and profound, fragile yet powerful voice as the main thread. His inspired performance and creative use of field recordings takes us to the streets of Oporto, Bangkok, Mumbai, Geneva and New York in a captivating journey. As a reminder of the heartbeat, the drum section embodies the rhythm of life and the perpetual movement that defines it. Also, the much present chamber orchestra helps sublimate the electro-orientated production.
